the white ring [teflon back up ring] SHOULD be split, thats how they are able to go on.
there should be an o ring facing the pressure and a back up ring behind it to stop the o ring extruding under pressure.

"just clicking" is 95% of the time an indication of a dodgy solenoid or a bad earth.

Got rear coils and dampers here Jim.

Give me bell when you read this. We are going away Thursday for a long weekend, but you are welcome to throw a rucksack on your back and pop over on the bike. These things are not too big to carry home...

Pity it's started sinking again - is it leaking again? Maybe the o-rings we put in weren't quite right?

no external leaks =

dumps or checks.

i think you did the slow down check already?
fully close it [small brass tap]........... does it still drop?

if so its dumps that are the problem.

bloody norra!
ive fitted the dumps that utterpiffle kindly lent me,it holds up at full lift for longer but after a while it starts to creep down and once its started it keeps goin' and its worse if its not at full lift.

i cleaned the dumps out blew them through with an airline and checked the seals which are good, there are no visible leaks, they still creep with the [check?] valves shut.

all the rams creep down a little bit occasionally but the n/s/r,o/s/r and o/s/f are all intermitant, they've been at full lift most of the day then a moment ago down they started to go.

all leads to dumps right?

can the alloy blocks fail?

do you/chris know what size/type rams you have.....................wondering if they could be displacment rams and hence effectively very small bore and high operating pressure.......................

chris seems to be of the opinion that they are only 4" rams all round but on read on here somewhere from greg that they are 6" all round.

thats the travel.
the bore is the internal diameter..........
on a standard [piston sealed] cyl the bore gives the seal area and hence the operating pressure.
on a displacment cyl the rod diameter is the effective area.

so
while a displacement and a piston sealed cyl may look the same [body dia and rod dia] the operating pressures can be a lot different
and high pressure [i:giykdqrq]could[/i:giykdqrq] be causing your leaks

sorry mis-understood ya,
the rods are 25mm external diameter so that should be the bore size i guess,or have i got the wrong end of the stick?
i think they are piston/seal type rams aswell.
how will i know if its due to high pressure?.

rod dia is effective ore size on a disp cyl.
piston sealed ones the bore is the actuall bore ofthe body cos the seal acts on that.

without a guage you dont realy....................... but piston sealed 30mm bore will be Ok as long as they are mounted in the right place [as chris']
