yes they are wicked, or these compomotive ones (which are my personal fave on old golfs)...

...or these compomotive turbo's/mono's which I think would look cool as hell on my mrs dark blue polo...

lol its not a hijack ben...... wanted a discussion on rims anyhow :)......................... so it would seem that not many peeps would spend say 2500+ on rims and tyres. My main concern other than the cost is that i would be making the car a target for thieves but i guess thats what we do anyhow.
Rims me thinks go a long long way to [i:jak169z6]make [/i:jak169z6]or [i:jak169z6]brake[/i:jak169z6] a car, nice rims on a [i:jak169z6]shite[/i:jak169z6] car make the car look [i:jak169z6]shite[/i:jak169z6],[i:jak169z6]shite[/i:jak169z6] rims on a nice car make the car look [i:jak169z6]shite[/i:jak169z6]..... just gotta find the right balance at the right the price i suppose.

I would be reluctant to spend 2,5k for a set of rims, Id be more likely to pay 750/1k and spend the rest on the base car or kit to go in/on it..  that said a lot of people spend that and more..   are you looking at some of those ostrich covered leather 22" puppies or something ant

If I had the cash, I'd love to spend maybe £1.5k on wheels and tyres.  Love Schmidt TH lines or BBS RS's on VAG cars...

However, in my current state...if I can actually afford a car, I'll want the cheapest but coolest looking rims I can get!

Just bought some ats rims £80 (rough ones) for the shop mk1. Most I've ever spent is £600 for a 17" wheel/tyre combo then another £160 on powder coating. Looking at machining a set of 15" and 16" rims for my bug - around £250 each for the billets to start me off plus the machining plus tyres. The company I'm using haven't done a set to a design before so will do it free-ish as a promo but still £1500 for 2 15"'s and 2 16's -chunky money to be a bit different.
