I'm fairly new to the scene too...

But what do you mean it's bouncing even when dumped?

Are you running accumilators?  Or could your slow down valves need adjusting?  They may be letting the fluid back into the pumps too quickly, therefore the car is slamming into the ground.

EDIT: The Daddy just beat me by seconds on this post!

if you are running springs and shocks, chances are they shockers may be totally shot..are they the origional merc ones.?

Could be wrong on this ,but.....I think the orig shocks have a lot of 'spring ' in them (have they actually got a weak spring inside them, that pushes them open?),which ,if they are in good cond smooth out the ride more IMHO.Can anyone verify this? Im saying this cos when I re-sited my shocks ,I found them very difficult to compress when refitting them .

chances are you have cut down coils. this puts the spring rate up drastically and standard shocks wont handle that.
try variable rate coils [T25 rear pigtail ones fit I think]

may seem a stupid question but are your rear shocks still there? certain hydraulic fitters think its fine to 'leave them off' the rear as the shocks are inside of the spring on the back of 126's and many other older mercs. this is why rams using  accumulators rather than springs are the best way to go on the rear, my 123 rides better than stock. i used to have a 'ray special' ram over spring setup on the back and it rode like crap.

youll need to ditch your current rear rams and springs, and replace them with just rams that fit with an easy to make bracket and rose joint to the lower shock mount in the trailing arms and some threaded rod welded to the top of the ram to go through the upper mount with rubber bushes just like the original shocker (strengthen this if you want to abuse it). the accumulators then plumb in the hydro. pipe between the pump and the ram. 1 to each ram. derrie can supply everything and help further
