Do you mean the upper spring pockets or the lower wishbone?

Just my 2p mate .....when you cut the metal away ,I'd watch that... a)you dont get carried away cutting too much away b)make sure you radius the corners ,so that there are no square cornered stress points where a split could start.Seen a plasma cutter in use ,but never used one .....personally I'd have a go with the grinder first! But others on here may have different ideas! BTW did you fit the air  originally ??

If you can get hold of a plasma then I would use that.

Dont take it all off just cut a little at a time and as rod says make sure its all radioused.

Plasma cutters work by super heating compressed air so only cut a short distance from the tip.

May also be an idea to weld a piece of inch 1/4 plate to help return some strength.

Cut a little then put some talk (yes the white pwder normaly used on baby's butox) on the bag to see the rubbing better.

When your happy with the cut tiby it up with a soft disc in your grinder as rough edges lead to fractures.

Good luck.........

I agree with Aaron(?) ....Or maybe just cut up from the bottom edge to the line, all round , in say 2" wide strips and flare them out to clear bag s and weld up the gaps? This would keep the strength AND make enuf clearance ?

thanks i think i'll get a plasma on the go
I didn't originally fit the air but am upgrading and when i saw the rubbing i was like 'oh shit that aint good.
I definatly wont go mad cutting loads away thats for sure just a little at a time then firm it up with some plating. like you've said i'll be trying to keep to the original shape but just trimming where nessesary
thanks

I read the thread title and thought we'd be talking about cutting bras? Oh well. Shame. My girlie has been in Australia for the last 2 months so I've taken to modifying all her underwear.

Not sure why I just told you that.....
