BMW 730i
« on: January 07, 2007, 10:45:41 PM »
At last i've bought a holder for my Lo-rdz plaque............

It has been dry stored for 3 years so needs a bit of work for the MOT but nothing too serious............ all 4 calipers seized, exhaust fallen off, o/s/r light cluster is wrecked, o/s/r quarter light busted, one of the tyres is knakered and all the batts are dead (some might take a charge but at least 1 is totally shot).
We (it's parked in my mates garage until i get the MOT) made a start on it today, got both front calipers freed-up and put the Chrysler batts in so i could "test" it
After 5 mins, the arse wouldn't lift anymore and the boot lid, floor and spare wheel well will never rust again   :D
2 days and i've already broken it

Dunno yet, the front pump is soaked in oil and has a loose dump which is weeping but not enough for that much mess and it still lifts.
The rear pump is spotless but has run out of oil and won't lift at all so it's either a hose from the rear pump that has burrst near the front one or the dump is taking the piss.
All i've got to do is fill em back up with oil and flick some switches with the boot open and i'll soon find the problem.
The most anoying thing was we couldn't do the rear callipers because the fucking thing was too low to get the jack under   :D

I know the feeling........Mrs chops isn't what you'd call impressed with my new toy, she's already pissed off with me for working on the Chrysler so the prospect of another project has caused some "frank discussions" in the bbc household.....................

................anyway it's too late now and the kids like it 8)  8)  :D

I had another go at it today and found the leak. A fitting had blown off the end of a hose, it looks like it wasn't crimped on properly.
I checked the rest of them and a few others look a bit iffy so it'll probably be blowing hoses all over the place once i get it dancing about
I made up a tempory repair by cutting the fittings off and welding them onto an old tipper hose i had laying around so i could have a proper play with fully charged batts...........it moves really well and you can chip the front 8)  8)  :D  :D

Too right mate..............I want 2 hoses for the beemer and i've got to get ALL the hoses and fittings for the Chrysler soon so i can move it.
I'd rather give Del the buisiness than get ripped off locally :)
