Hi folks,

After replacing water system partson my 1.8l 190e manual I have no leaks ... and the engine is still overheating. So I picked up a new fan switch, fitted it to the top of the engine and got nothing. The old switch at least sent a signal to the guage even if it only kicks in the fan at red line, the new one didn't even do this.

To Merc' I went and got another new one, which also didn't work at all.

1. Am I just having bad luck with the spares quality?
2. Is there another possible cause for the fan only kicking in as the engine over heats and kicks steam out the expansion tank?

Thanks

T

Does the fan work if you bridge the connector at the switch?does the temp stay down if the fan is running constantly?
