Moparrrrr
« on: August 06, 2008, 06:41:51 PM »
I kept it a secret for ages but bought this for my wedding car a month back. Not had time to get her running but it won't take much. Pretty solid for one of these. Matching numbers. 383 big block. 4-spd Hurst manual. 31,000 from new but sat for ages. No options - no air con or power steering/brakes. Gonna be a ratty handful.

Trunk floor and lower rear quarters shot. Am ordering those now. Servo for brakes will be a must I think. New interior kit (headliner etc) and then drive it.

Imported it myself from San Diego. Black plate Cali car.

Cheers boys. It looks worse than it actually is, but still needs lower rear quarters and whole trunk floor. Rest of underside excellent. I wont be painting it rest assured. She's going on steelies with redband tyres as well.

Arnie - you had one at 15?????

I got married 6 weeks ago and the Impala is still in 100,000 pieces. I was a bit gutted as the Allegro wasn't finished either (story of my life) so I found this Charger which was ideal. Apart from the fact it doesn't run. It made a nice static wedding car with ribbons....

The work started on the Charger yesterday. Stripping out the boot floor and removing the interior. I love rust.

PS: Under this crap burgundy paint the Charger still has the unkeyed F6 light green metallic paint. We're going to try and scrape it back to reveal the original colour, then fit a vinyl roof (as it had). It will still look mean but with a nice interior and steelie rims.

Tim at roadhouseretro.com is doing the work. I'll get the bits from Chris at WASP......

Ahh I see, congratualtions on the wedding. If you can't get any cars finished then it means you've got (shock horror!  :o  ) Too many cars!

Scraping back to green sounds pretty cool, look forward to seeing it.

Tim @ Roadhouse has been working on the Charger for 3 weeks now. Old boot floor cut out, rear quarter lower sections cut out, rear valance chopped off. All of the above new panels bought from W.A.S.P (complete bootfloor is massive). Tim's nearly done the boot area and I;ve gotta order some trunk rain gutters. We took the rear window out and it's not good. Panels on order there.

Luckily all of the rot is at the back of the Dodge, the rest of the car is super solid. After this time to cut back to the original paint and waxoyl the fecker.

Deadline: Xmas. I want an MoT from Santa Claus.
