SIRUS - new caddy project DFW
« on: June 20, 2008, 02:51:52 PM »
Right, as a company we have now moved onto new vehicle designs, in fact 3 more new vehicles now, we've just finished our new Drive-from-Wheelchair VW Caddy, looks real sweet, we're all we happy with it, this time we are using an air system on the rear for suspension and the openng and closing of tailgate and ramp etc, this has been designed by Dunlop Systems, and seems to work real well

fan-bloody-tastic Russ!..

might be a bit of an off the wall sugestion, but have you considered lowering one a bit and fitting it out with some big speakers and stuff, then getting it into max power or something?..  I do some work in schools and often with disabled kids of 14-18yrs old, and a lot of them are really into their cars..   most see it as a bit of a dream and something thats "out of reach", probably don't realise they could have a car of their own which they could drive, which is actually cool and not something that looks like this!..

Might open up a bit of a market, and there's plenty of bits available for a VW golf derivative ;)
keep up the good work mate..

Cheers for big-up ben, we weren'y going to launch it till the end of year, but it had such a great response at a disability show last week we might be bringing it forward, and your right what you say, it will appeal to younger individuals and have been talking about doing a 'show' style one with all the toys etc, i asked about taking it to bug jam as a taster to the younger generations?

Billybol... the air system on the back does give pssss effect, and closure its regulated giving a nice pssssss pss ppssss psss till closed!! sounds cool..... :)

I think it will be really well received by the younger disabled people who currently probably dont consider being able to get a car they can drive themselves..  I saw a guy in sainsburies the other day pulling himself into his car out of his wheel chair and then folding it all up and putting it in the passenger seat..  was amazing to watch, although I felt like a bit of a tosser staring..

I think it would go over well with the max power crew; if someone turned up to an asda carpark rolling in that caddy with some tints, a pumping stereo and a body kit they would be well impressed, and totally receptive regardless of disability or anything else..

look forward to seeing it at bugjam!..

i've  just cleared it with the important ones (the family) so all being well with everything else will be there.

Need a non-permanent look for it though for the show, any suggestions, or just go with it as is?? got a bonnet bra on order....
